Privacy
Aetheria Bloom is a small hobby game run on one server. This page says plainly what it knows about you, what it keeps, and for how long.
Logging in with Discord
When you log in, Discord asks you to share your account with Aetheria Bloom using its "identify" permission. That gives the game:
- your Discord user ID (a number), which is how the game recognises you next time;
- your display name (or username), which becomes Poncho's owner's name in the game.
It does not give the game your email address, your password, your servers or your friends list, and the game can't post anything as you. The game keeps a login token (from our server, not Discord) in its settings folder on your PC so you don't have to log in every time. You can remove Aetheria Bloom from Discord's Settings > Authorized Apps at any time.
What the server keeps
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your game: the farm, Poncho, his programs and scripts, your bag, notebook progress, records and achievements | So you can play | As long as the game runs, or until you ask us to delete it |
| Chat in Mendwell and whispers | To act on reports of harassment or spam | 30 days |
| Reports you make about another player, with the chat lines around them | To act on them | Until they're dealt with |
| Bug reports (F8), with the game version, where you were and the last 20 lines of your chat window | To fix bugs | Until the bug is fixed, then kept as history |
| Trades and market sales between players | To undo cheating or a bug | As long as the game runs |
| When you played, for how long, which goals you finished and where people get stuck | To make the game better (only counts, never sold or shared) | Details 30 days, daily totals after that |
| Backups of all of the above | To recover from a server failure | 14 days |
The game's Discord has an announcements channel where the server posts big moments: silver and gold achievements, levels 10/20/30, finishing Grandpa's Notebook, a newcomer's first login, the Great Warden and Mendwell events, weekly champions. It names you; set your player card to Nobody and you're left out.
The web server keeps no access logs, so it doesn't record your IP address. The leaderboards on the wiki show players' names and numbers; set your player card to Nobody and you show up as "A private player".
Who sees it
Only the people running the game (the developer and anyone helping run the server). Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else. Other players see what the game shows them: your name, your Poncho, your farm when you invite them, your chat, and your records if you share them.
Deleting your data
Ask on the game's Discord, or use the in-game bug report (F8) with the words "delete my data". We'll remove your game and your account, and anything else tied to your Discord ID, within 30 days (backups roll over within 14 days after that).
