Hardware, loot and crafting
Hardware and loot (Diablo-style)
Every part has a rarity, an item level and random affixes (bonus stats). Hover to compare it with what's installed.
Rarity: Scrap → Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary (with a unique power). Higher item level unlocks stronger affix tiers (at levels 1 / 10 / 20 / 30).
| Slot | Main stat | Parts (best ones need item level 8+) |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | lines/sec | Rusted (starter), Salvaged, Calyx Pro (fast but runs hot) |
| Motherboard | lines | Salvaged (starter), Hobbyist (shop, 60), Industrial |
| Servos | move speed | Worn, Racing (+power) |
| Heat sink | max heat + cooling | Tin (shop, 30), Copper |
| Sensor | sensor range | Basic, Lidar Array |
| Cargo | bag slots | Pouch (General Store, 40), Cargo Rack (8+), Scavenger's Saddlebags (12+, +loot find), Field Backpack (15+), Hauler Pack (25+, the most room but 5-8% slower), Canvas Bag (crafted) |
| Frame | less heat from hits | Wooden, Ironwood (crafted only) |
Affixes you'll see: Overclocked (CPU), Efficient (CPU), Expanded (lines), Greased (speed), Charged (power), Chilled (max heat), Ventilated (cooling), of Fortune (loot find), of Sight (sensor range), of Hoarding (bag), of Plenty (double harvest), of the Harvest (growth speed), of Learning (XP), of Courage (fear resist), of Shielding (less heat from hits), Roomy (bag slots, cargo only: a cargo part can roll Roomy and of Hoarding together).
Legendaries
| Name | Power |
|---|---|
| Grandpa's Pocketwatch | Loop checks are free: only lines inside a loop cost CPU |
| The Thermal Siphon | attack() vents 8 heat instead of building it |
| Unshakeable Gyro | Mood never drops low enough to flee |
| Cornucopia Rack | +25% chance of double harvests |
| Phase-Shift Treads | move() / move_by() hop over one wall or crate (item level 12+) |
| Scrapper's Lens | Crates and glitches roll one extra loot drop |
| Old Relay Board | Cools twice as fast again while wait()ing |
Workbench (B): click a spare part to install it; click an installed part to pull it out. Stats update live on the right.
Paint: the buttons under the stats repaint Poncho: red takes a Rose, orange a Marigold, blue an Indigo, and green (as he came) is free. Other players see his colour in Mendwell, the Commons and the Arena.
Parts from the orchard
Some parts never drop: you craft them at the bench from what the orchard and its machines make. They roll their rarity and affixes like loot (up to Epic), so you can reroll, upgrade and temper them as usual.
| Recipe | Cost | Makes |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden Frame | 4 planks + 1 rubber | a Frame (Poncho's body): less heat from hits, a little more max heat |
| Ironwood Frame (workshop) | 4 ironwood planks + 2 rubber + 1 oil | much less heat from hits, more max heat, braver |
| Rubber Treads | 2 rubber + 2 scrap + 1 oil | servos: faster, a bit more power |
| Charcoal Heat Sink | 3 charcoal + 2 scrap + 1 circuit | a heat sink: more max heat and cooling |
| Canvas Bag | 3 cloth + 1 rubber | cargo: 4-6 more bag slots |
Oiling: pick a part on the crafting bench and oil it (1 Oil, once per part) for 10% more cooling from it. It stays oiled through rerolls and tempers.
Crafting bench (C)
Materials: Scrap Metal, Circuit Boards, Glitch Cores.
- Salvage: break parts into materials (better rarity gives better materials). There's a Salvage every Common part button.
- Craft:
| Recipe | Cost | Makes |
|---|---|---|
| Solder a Circuit Board | 6 scrap | 1 circuit |
| Stabilize a Glitch Core | 5 circuits | 1 core |
| Compost Fertilizer | 4 potatoes | 2 fertilizer |
| Salvaged Assembly | 8 scrap + 2 circuits | random Uncommon part at your best item level |
| Precision Assembly | 4 circuits + 1 core | random Rare part at your best item level |
| Warden Assembly | 3 Loop Cores + 2 cores | random Legendary part at your best item level |
-
Enchant a part:
- Reroll one affix: Uncommon 1 circuit, Rare 2 circuits, Epic 3 circuits + 1 core, Legendary 2 cores.
- Upgrade rarity (up to Epic): Common→Uncommon 6 scrap, Uncommon→Rare 10 scrap + 3 circuits, Rare→Epic 4 circuits + 2 cores.
- Temper (up to 3 times, past normal max): every affix +50% of its range. 2 circuits + 1 core each.
